Care and Preservation

Prints and Other Techniques on Canvas or Paper

■ Keep paintings away from direct sunlight to preserve the paint over time and prevent colors from fading.

■ Avoid humidity. Paintings should be stored in well-ventilated areas to reduce the risk of mold and other parasites. This is particularly important for works on paper or cardboard, which are more prone to attracting mold if not properly cared for.

Wooden Sculptures: Indigenous Stools and Other Works

■ Though more durable than paintings, wooden artworks should not be exposed to direct sunlight or rain to maintain their integrity.

Vintage Items: Silver or Silver-Plated Pieces

■ To preserve silver, which can tarnish and scratch easily, wash only with running water and mild soap, avoiding abrasive sponges. Dry with a soft cloth. Do not use dishwashers and avoid prolonged contact with food residues or harsh substances. If tarnished, apply a silver polish using cotton or a soft cloth, let it sit for a few minutes, and then remove it with a soft cloth.
